There is no racing at Lenzerheide this year, its moved and our closest now is Les Gets... It's potentially a good week with all things combined and as a bonus its only three hours from where we live.ย  Having not been at all for the DH/XC/XCO racing, can anyone help with camping or similar that is pretty close to the track, especially the DH / XC stuff.
Campsite options, accomodation options, tips and advice all well received please..

Thanks.

There's not much camping in and around Morzine or Les Gets sadly. The only one I know is half way up the mountain at the bottom end of Les Gets but it's not very big so I imagine it will be rammed.

Happy to be proven wrong as I haven't been since 'The Before Times'.

I always used to stay with Riders Refuge but I was prioritising riding and having someone else feed me. Are you taking bikes?

Following with interest. I am going too for a week with a group of friends, we have booked a gite near the centre of Les Gets.ย  How many of you?

We are getting transfers from the airport so will be relying on local buses or any event venue transport and feet to get about.

No help to the OP but boy and his gf are doing their first solo road trip down there.

Does anyone know what the score is with tickets? Lots of the other WC have released tickets but he hasn't seen anything for Les Gets yet.

@hels, Only two of us going. We live 3 hrs away so an easy drive.... If I knew where the track for DH and XC/XCO is I could make some decisions. Is it all happening very close to Les Gets or a bit out of town?

It's in the centre of Les Gets so if that's where you're staying you won't have to travel anywhere. You might need some ear plugs for bed time though. Getting up the hill from Morzine on race day might be interesting.

The DH race is on Mont Chery and the lift station is on the main road through town. I 'think' the XC stuff is opposite on Les Chavannes. You can probably access most of that track by just walking up the hill.

Do you even need a ticket? The European rounds of the WC I've been to I never needed one. Just walk in and buy a lift ticket, go up and then hike down the track. Fort William is the only one I've been to that charges for tickets. But, Les Gets is way busier than most rounds and it's a small gondola so getting onto the mountain might be an issue.

It's all very well organised, there wasn't much of a queue for theย  Mont Chery lift in 2022, you may even get to meet a few riders, once out of the lift, riders turn left and pedestrians right to use separate chair lifts, no spectator tickets are required, there was a pop up bar half way down too 🍻

The XC was held around the trees at the bottom of Chavannes, easily accessible and again no tickets required.

We stayed in Morzine and there was a stream of free buses there and back, they were a bit of a squash on the way back 😄
