Anybody bought a reliable cheap kit recently to do this?
Big shame. The frame is a 19" 29er and route is under BB, causing longer route. Brake was a new £30, so it's rather become expensive. Was 130cm.

Superstar do a kit that works fine. Cheap, simple,and works.

Also, jagwire kits sometimes come up cheap.
