[Closed] Lefkas

Yep been to Lefkas 4-5 times (Vassikili for mountain biking/windsurfing). You could get a MTB hire from some of the windsurfing places if you ask around. MTB quality is generally OK but availability varies on numbers of holiday makers. You can hire road bikes in Lefkada.

The MTBing is pretty good on Lefkas with the top of the Island being 3300ft and lots of gravel/dirt tracks all over the Island.

Going back at May half term but I'll take my own bike.

I was out there in 93 & 94 with a company called Shockwave I think. Had a great time but don't think my experience is very relevant today.

I was in 'Vas' a few years ago on a Neilson Windsurfing & MTB activity holiday. It has fantastic wind ( too strong +++for me) and excellent mountain biking. The 2 MTB guides were excellent taking an advanced & intermediate ride out each morning for between 3-5hrs....

Thanks, going there in August for a sailing holiday but fancy getting a bike out at least once, the terrain looks great. Maybe I'll take a morning out with them.

A bit like Rubber Buccaneer but with a company called Falcon....windsurfing. OMG it was 1985!

There were lots of frogs crawling over the streets in Nidri....like a carpet!

I got 'lucky' on that holiday! Sighs

I did Vassikili for windsurfing/mountain biking too. Morning rides before lessons. Lots of fire roads, frappucinos and quite tasty descents. Lots of pootling places too if you're away with others who want to cycle in afternoons but don't want to grind up hills.

Lefkas in August and mountain biking - get up early! It can be way too hot for mountain biking in the summer sun. There are plenty of trails direct from Nidri and lots of climbing. It's a 10mile climb off road to the top of the island.
