Kneepads rubbing

My partner gets really bad rub from kneepads on the front of her shins, I think at the bottom of the protective bit curves down and towards her shins (a bit below her tibial tuberosities for anyone anatomically inclined). She gets these when using nukeproof pads, 7idp pads and also when using my endura/Atherton ones so it seems to be her shin shape rather than a specific pad doing it.

Was wondering if anyone else has this issue and if they found a set of pads that didn't do this or a particularly soft set of pads that might reduce this? Blindly buying kneepads until she finds a set that work could get expensive!

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried longer combo Knee/shin guards that may move the contact point further down.

Alternatively Sudocreme?

I’ve got some alpinestars paragon lite knees guards. They’re super low profile, soft and bendy. Depends how much protection she needs, but I’m happy with them, I’m not aware I’m wearing them.

Put some chamois crème on. It’s great at stopping chafing.

I use chamois cream and it helps loads.

I mostly ride in the soft race face pads

I tried stitching some old silk sleeping bang liner in. It worked for a while. It was my sewing skills that were the let down rather than the idea.

I have a old silk tie inside another pair. Just stitched at the top so the tie can move freely against the knee pad.
