Some brakes on eBay going cheap - Tektro hydraulic model, and I think they'll be fine for my daugher's bike which needs brakes. But one of the hoses has a slight kink in it.
Run away, or all okay?
Kinked hoses can be ok...until you try and bleed them and everything goes wrong...IME
Can you re-use fittings when shortening hoses on Tektro brakes?
Where is the kink and what relative size is daughters bike?
If you can cut off the kink then all is good.... if not then accident waiting to happen unless you replace the hose. (Been there and done it and one day a big "blister" came through the kink... didn't burst but would have if I'd kept using them)
She's only 6 so she's not putting much force into them.
Kink is about half way down the front one so cannot be cut out.
Thinking about it though, I probably have some hose. And hose isn't expensive. At this price, I think it's worth a try - if I can't make it pop by squeezing with my big dad hands, she'll be fine.
Actually - the pads might be worn out or worn badly on an ebay set. Not really worth buying used without rotors even at that price.
Dunno what the price is, but the Clarks ones at £40 are pretty faultless (need a hose shortening kit too - extra few £)
