Glad I read the compulsory gear list- there's not actually anything that's a pain to take (I don't have a space blanket though, and I'm not spending any more money on this event).
picked up a space blanket for 4 squid today though i think some others are bringing spares just in case. Think a whistles a bit much though. Next we'll be asked to bring glo-sticks and neon race kit
There was a gent at SITs 2 or 3 years ago with glowsitcks in his wheels, in his helmet, glowstick glasses. Quite an odd sight in the night.
Fortunatley got a bag where the whistle is built into the chest strap clips.
The rules stopping suddenly looks like a mistake, but I quite like rule 15:

I've got a waterproof poncho that is nicely folded up and looks like its made of fairly hi-tec material, thats my space blanket
