Got jnr a balance bike for christmas but he want impressed that it had no pedals. Anyhow, he's an absolute superstar on it and now needs something a bit better and with brakes! He goes way too fast on the balance bike and is a right daredevil.
He's a very small 3 1/2 year old, so needs something the same size as a balance bike, won't need stabilisers though as he's quite happy coasting feet up downhill for a good way.
Any recommendations?
Don't want to spend a fortune
kids don't care about bike quality at that age, pick up something form your local tip and he'll probably love it (I did) althoguh you ahve to watch out for them not being able to use brakes!! If you want something quality (as every STW contributor will tell you) it has to be Islabike - http://www.islabikes.co.uk - great resale values as well. As soon as my just turned 4 daughter can appreciate having a good bike I'll be buying her one, for now she wants anything pink!
My son at that age had a 12 inch bike from Decathlon. It was pretty sturdy and was a good shape(long and low). They dont do the 12 inch in the UK but here is the 14 version. http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/kikodil-88608771/ A serious bargain for the money as it looks just like the one we had and that was pretty indestructible.
Isla bikes are great but its probably only worth thinking about them 16 inch upward.
