Was supposed to be starting the KAW today with some friends from Winchester, unfortunately I was pinged last week and am currently self isolating.
I will therefore be missing day 1, and my new plan is drive to Winchester, park at the station, train to Swindon, meet up with the guys at the start of day 2, ride day 2 & 3, then back to the car to drive home.
The SWT website says a weekend ticket is available for £7.90, which is more than reasonable, but wanted to check with others to see if there is a better option available.
Also, what're the odds of getting 3 trains (2 changes!) with a (clean) bike without issue, should I allow for extra time assuming one train has no bike space etc.
Thanks in advance.
Parking price seems reasonable. There are residential parking restrictions that cover most places you could park nearby the station in Winchester now which would leave your car quite remote from the station.
We parked at the Premier inn, cheap and not far from the town centre
