As above I want to fit canti's to the back end of my Kaff and Pomopino but the cable support is a pain in the arse to say the least

I got hold of a surly cable hanger but alas it is too long and interfears with the straddle cable

What have you folk done ???? or do I have to stick to the scabby mini'V which work well but rot quickly

I wouldn't bother. Canti's are beyond cack, a faff to set up and never work as well as even a cheap flexible v brake IMHO. Why not try a standard v brake with a travel adjuster (converts cable pull of drop bar lever to work with v brake)?

I've used one of these on my pompi.Seat clamp cable hanger

They are only available in 31.8 though so I filed off the lip and was then, with a strip of shampoo bottle plastic shim, able to clamp it onto the seat tube below the actual seat clamp area. It works a treat. With the shim it doesn't clamp the seat tube securely to work as a seat post clamp but it's fine for holding the cable

Cantis work brilliantly with the correct canti not vee brake lever and some decent cartridge pads.

I'll post a more detailed photo this evening.

Mini V's for me on both my pompy and my kaffenback, never had a problem with them.

or normal vee's and some brake levers that pull a proper amount of cable? 😉

On-One have cheap V brake drop levers at present.

I used the same hanger as Mattbike, and it works fine. Never liked mini-Vs as the pads had to be run so close to the rim, I have a pair of Travel Agents for £15 posted, if you want to run V brakes using the standard road levers.

Forgive me for posting this pic AGAIN, but my 2009 Pompino's got a braze-on cable stop. Have they removed this from the latest frames? It worked perfectly for me with standard canti's:

One of my Pomps (both 2005 IIRC) has the braze-on cable stop like simon1975's, while the other has got the dangle-from-the-seat-post-clamp thing like they sell now http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/BSRCH/rear-cable-hanger-for-cantis , which works fine.

Ta for the replys folks

I have had my Kaff and pompino for about 6 years and I have used mini V's on them but call me a bit of a tosser but they rot and look pants and the cable catches on the guards.Shame they work so well 😕 Now if I could get some ( tried and failed) Campagnolo mini V type brakes which they made a couple of years ago I would

I have several sets of cantis to use so that is my reasoning why cantis

saladdodger I came across someone selling those Campag Mini V's about a year ago, I can't remember who but it might have been a european seller on Ebay, try searching for items that are available to the UK.

I've got one of the Avid Single Digit v-brake species on the back of mine (can't remember which tho'), pulled by one of a pair of Cane Creek Direct Curve levers and it works a treat ... ok, works a treat for a v-brake.

Full length outer too tho' which is zip-tied on and probably looks a bit gash (if one was to worry about such a thing).

... but looking at it now with a winter riding head on ... it's clearly not going to work with guards - it'll be ok with my clip-on SKS 'race' guards, but not proper full length guards.

How's this? Just put the hanger on seat clamp of your choice.

Use Tektro CR520s and all will be lovely. I think.

Tektro CR520s are the best Cantis I have tried, incidently that cable hanger didn't work with my planetx seat clamp, the bolt was too close to the seatpost, which meant the hanger fouled on the seatpost.
