I'm Old Git Surrey, just signed up.
Being an ex-road time triallist, I'm still a relative novice to off-road fun but find time to get lost around Swinley Forest about once a week.
Currently have 3 bikes, a yellow road one which looks nice, but rides like a 5-bar gate ๐ , a hybrid based on a Marin Pine Mountain and a Kona Fire Mountain uprated with Reba forks and Hope Tech X2 brakes. Being an ex-roadie, I'm usually a bit better at climbing than descending, as I tend to go down them at the speed of a glacier!!
My current project is organising a 2 1/2-hour run around Swinley for about 15 other geriatrics on the 30th of this month. I also have another project lined up that involves defining, naming and mapping all the decent runs in Swinley, such as Left-Left, Left-Right, Babymaker, Corkscrew, Labyrinth, Tank Traps and other such stuff.
Hoping to learn stuff and share in the chat.
Cheers for now
OGS
Hello....welcome to the asylum.
You'll soon get the hang of things. The basic format goes along the lines of a few sensible responses before someone veers off track with some kind of irrelevant arguement.
Which is nice. ๐
Yes - welcome! Maybe see you around Swinley at some point. My one forum tip would be to avoid any debate about whether or not you wear a helmet like the plague.... ๐
Hi OGS and welcome!
