New for £260. OK, they are quick release so even if my front wheel stays attached its going to wear through the lowers after flexing so much it rubs on them and certainly kill my face, if not that of a passing child.

Still, my wheels are QR, aren't convertible, and I can't afford to change them at the mo so I'm happy. I'm looking at the DT Swiss RWS to maybe stiffen them up a little.

Thats all.

😀

Good for you, pat on the back, jolly well done.

Uh, that's it really.

I've just fitted a 9mm superstar through axle on my qr forks and its much stiffer than a qr axle. Granted its not as good as a 20mm but it's the best I can do.

Well - Winstanleys sent me QR RCT3 revelations for £230 a couple of weeks ago. Great forks and complete bargin for me because my new wheels are also qr only. Nothing wrong with qr for vast majority of my riding. Do have oversized fulcrum hubs though that might help.

How do these SS 9mm axles work? I DT Swiss QR hubs. Can I just buy the SS 9mm axle QR thingy and swap over or is there more to it?

Some people would worry about the flex from the QR models. Other people know the QR Rev is still stiffer than a QR15 Fox 32 so will worry less 😉

9mm bolt-through axle fits in any QR fork but does need a 9mm wheel- some are convertible but not all.

Get a 2nd hand Hope front wheel and a Superstar 9mm thru axle. The 'wanted' section is great for a cheap upgrade. IIRC the RWS is expensive and plasticky.

Have you figured out the settings yet? I got an RCT in December and it took a bit of reading/riding to sort it out. I think I've got it set now. I've been using the middle 'threshold' setting more than expected but the low speed compression needs to be set right to get the most from it otherwise it can feel like lockout.
