I really like Vast and don't really like Collective sort of stuff as I'm really not bothered about jumping. Looking for some recommendations for films with nice flowy riding with plenty ups and downs...not really bothered about racing or going big on jumps - that latest thing from Red Bull (Where the Trail Ends (or something) - didn't get it at all...just seemed to be a trip round the world to ride/drop steep stuff and not a lot else...defo not looking for that...so what do you recommend to download?

Cheers.

Life Cycles is pretentious and boring, but if you didn't like Where the Trail Ends you should probably ignore my opinion cos I thought it was ACE.

I did like Vast though

I would have thought pretentious would have gone down a treat on this forum ๐Ÿ™„

Strength in Numbers was diverting, and not all about people throwing themselves up into the air (I think).

Not bikey, but an excellent film. A proper, adventurous expedition that only happened with the advent of new techniques and the b*lls of a few to step up and give the unthinkable a go. The Everest of the kayak world?

LifeCycles pretentious? I wouldn't label it that.. I thought it was an excellent film - beautifully filmed, thought-provoking, yes. Pretentious, no.

Ignore "stilltortoise" , Lifecycles is one of the better mtb films made, it has sequences that just make you want to get out and ride, without all the usual shredding the gnar to the max dude! - high five man! crap that is "where the trail ends", that film is mind numbingly full of wnak with added wnak narration followed by wnak editing and makes for a film that is 100% wnak in my opinion, once you've seen one drop off or long slow cut to a slide down a hill then you've seen them all.

Just in case i was too subtle in describing my feelings above i'll provide a more succinct version - i did not enjoy "where the trail ends".

Pretty much every bike film I've watched (not that many) are all incredibly dull and boring. Spend it on music.

Funnily enough Somafunk's review of Where The Trail Ends pretty much sums up how I felt about Life Cycles. I saw it in a double bill with Vast at the piccies. Compared to Vast - which made me want to ride - Lifecycles made me want to nod off. Too many "look how good our slow motion HD filming is" segments and narrative that was largely drivel. Plenty of threads on here showing it's not just me with that opinion, but I realise we all like different things.

I'd like to see some of Clay Porter's films

It all just shows how different we are, as I loved both LifeCycles and Vast. I didn't see them as either/or.

I enjoyed Where the Trail Ends, but then again I love Roam (but didn't really like Seasons). Strength in Numbers is good too. Stuff by Anthills seem to be pretty good.

I used to like the NWD films when I was younger but now they just bore the he'll out of me.
