Around the world in 80 days... He's in northern Spain and has 3 or so days to get to Paris, I think. I've been following his progress on Strava and it's incredible - I never actually thought that level of endurance was possible! Hats off to Mark, I hope he makes it!
Should be passing through my manor tomorrow then.
Had to laugh when he said he just thinks about getting to the end of the current four hour block. When I'm doing long ride I think about getting through the next 20km!
A whole other level, I agree! I've not quite worked out how he's still going tbh...
Bit like when Eddie Izzard did 43 marathons in 51 days (or 27 in 27), massive willpower, top preparation and a hell of a support team around him. Fair play to Mark though, he was the first to really go at the round the world record in a concerted way. Incredible to think this attempt will be more than 100 days quicker..
An incredible achievement no doubt but if your just thinking about 4 hr blocks you're not really taking in the surroundings and culture etc. Doesn't sound like much fun tbh.
He did that before.
This is just about endurance racing. He ain't got time to shop for fridge magnets. ๐
you're not really taking in the surroundings and culture etc.
But that isn't why he's doing it.
He did that before.
Yeah - that was pretty inspirational stuff - just him, all his kit and a video recorder. I stumbled across it accidentally and was hooked by the whole series.
