It's got to be acceptable to ask a general question if anyone would give a lift. I wouldn't target someone to ask myself though, and wouldn't want to share a tent with a stranger either(unless she was pretty 😉 ).

OMG I agree with steve - blagging a lift is cool IMO, asking to share a tent is not.
