Looking at an integrated tapered headset but want to run a 1&1/8th fork. Headset im lookng at doesnt have a same brand crown race reducer available. Will another brand reducer work? Im thinkng the outer diameter of the headset and the inner diameter must be standard to fit the frame (IS 52 40) so surely crown race for is same headset standard must be standard across brands?
Or wishful thinkng on my part?

As far as I know, the only variable here is the angle of the chamfer on the inner bearing ring / crown race - 36 or 45 degrees.

If you use the Hope adapter, you can then use the "proper" crown race for your headset with it.

if you need a headset get a da bomb depth charge.

comes with everything needed to run either 11/8 straight or a 1.5 to 1 1/8 tapered steerer.

paid 30 for mine from chain reaction.

For any others searchees.....this £13 brand X headset from CRC worked a treat

And the nukeproof crown racer reducer (45deg by 45deg) fits it fine to run the fatty carbon fork
