I'm sure it's been discussed many times before so please can someone point me at the most appropriate thread? Otherwise make your recommendations here.
I have multiple bikes . Thanks.

Mine are specified on my normal ESure policy. Not cheap, think the last one cost £38 for a £2.5k bike

I'm with onecall covering 25k of bikes. It added very little to the house policy but there are a few stipulations for storage.

This was a thread I started recently .

We renewed with Pedalcover after clarifying that even though the policy document excudes car cover the underwriters don't intend to enforce that clause.

Hmm, I'l check my coverage as I believed it was covered in car.

Underwriters don't tend to have a say on claims and from the insurance companies I've worked for the claims department only uses the underwriters who sold the policy to check if theres a query on the actual level of cover that was sold at the time and not to get opinions on whether the claim is valid or not.

Not to say that happens at Axa though, thats just my experience at other insurers.

You can add bike cover to Lloyds and Halifax home insurance which might work out quicker than bespoke bike cover - that's what I've done this year. around £12 of bikes

Added bikes to my Lloyds home insurance. Not sure what the exact cost of adding the bikes was as they changed us to a more appropriate policy which came with a 50% introductory discount, even though we already had a policy with them. There was little difference in the full cost of the policies before discount. The new policy included cover away from home as long as secured with a bike lock (no minimum security standard required) or inside a locked vehicle. Any number of bikes sub £500 included (within the total value covered) and above that individually listed. Also doubled the value covered for garage contents. I certainly sleep better at night.

Pedalcover most definitely do cover bikes inside locked cars, they just have to be covered up / out of sight
Ive just renewed with them (first time I have ever kept the same insurance company 3 years in a row) and had this confirmed on the phone

Most if not all the others that are often mentioned on here only cover a bike if it is locked to a rack on top or on the back of a car but bizarly not if it is locked inside, this includes the AA, Hiscoxs, NFU and More Than. This is no good to me as I never leave my bike outside the car, it is always inside
