Can't find a video on YouTube or SRAM service website. Anyone know for instructions please?

Thanks

There's full visual instructions on the rockshox product page:

https://www.sram.com/rockshox/products/pike-charger-2-upgrade-kit

At the bottom, "Service manual charger 2 damper upgrade kit".

And it’s not too difficult either. I did this a while ago and found it more simple than I thought. The charger 2 comes ready to go. You just take the top cap out on the damper side, pour the oil out and throw the big plastic thing inside it out. Then from the bottom (once you’ve removed the lowers) you just undo the circlip holding the rebound piston in and slide that bit out. Then the new damper goes in - bolts through the bottom and screws in at the top cap.

Done. Makes a really good difference.

If you’ve haven’t bought it already I’d install a 2019 debonair air shaft at the same time. You’ll end up with a silly good fork.

Can I ask what oil you gents put in the lowers?  I didn't recognise the one in the Sram guidance so I just put the usual 15w in.

Great. Thank you. I put a debonair in my Pikes recently and they made a big difference, so tempted to upgrade airshaft in Yaris too. Planning a frame upgrade next year to maybe a Cotic Flare or Rocket. For the former I'll need a shorter air shaft, and the latter could go longer. Decisions decisions!

Go long! I love my Aeris 145lt (160mm rear travel) with 170mm forks when you’re in an uplift day. It’s ridiculously good. I even rode a 50k lap round the black / red at Brechfa in the summer and it just lapped it up.

I’ve got a 130mm Pike on my new hardtail that really should be 140mm for the geo - going to get a debonair shaft for that shortly. Be interesting to see how the pike RC charger 1 compares to the Lyrik rct3 charger 2.

Oil wise in the Yari / Lyrik lowers I just used whatever TF Tuned provided in their service kit.

Nothing exotic - a Vitus Sentier vrx+ frame which I’ve built up from various bits I already had, plus a few new parts. Z

Should have a 140mm fork on it but I got a secondhand pike rc from eBay that’s currently 130mm travel. I doubt I’ll particularly notice the difference in travel but going to get a 140mm air shaft - although the new debonair version (2017 Pike).

Bike rides great already in fairness.

Thread ressurection.

just done the install, rc2 adjuster seems rattly. Everything is fitted nicely and tightened appropriately. Can’t see any mention of a rubber seal/washer to go on this top assembly to stop this.

anyone got the same? Or done something to fix this?

I think the lsc compression adjuster on the rct3 is a little loose with no apparent o ring
