[Closed] Installing Reverb Stealth from lever

I have just bought a new Reverb for the bike with the newer X1 lever and going to try and install it later on. Will the below method work or am I making it complicated for my self?

I was going to thread an old brake hose through the frame and up the seat tube, then remove the X1 remote and attach the two hoses together with the red double sided insert in the box. Once connected pull the Reverb hose through the frame by pulling on the old brake hose, this should bring it out the frame so I can then shorten and fit the X1 remote back on?

Would this work without me having to bleed it or is there a simpler way?
I looked online and most people seem to remove the hose from the bottom of the post but I am 90% sure that wont go through the small routing holes on the frame.

Yes it will work, and you will probably still need to bleed it anyway (from experience).

That is what I would do. Turn the speed to full slow before unscrewing the lever and you may not need to bleed but I'd always do a bleed just to be sure, it's so easy why skip it.

Ok thanks guys, just checked and the brake hose I have will be too short so going to order a metre online, always handy to keep for future use.

If you have an inner cable that is long enough you could thread that through the same way as you suggested & slide the reverb hose up it, you will definitely have to bleed it this way though.

That's generally the way we do it in our workshop, much easier to get a bare hose-end through cable guides etc., plus, if you do get air in the system, it'll be at the top/lever, and is simple to suck out without reverting to a full bleed.

*Assuming* you already have a reverb installed - you could just leave the old hose in place and change the end attachment for the post (for the newer one) or just continue to use the old seat post attachment
