Whilst posting in someone elses thread the other day I realised that something with my chainring/bashring setup is wrong. There's enough of a gap for the chain to fall off and get stuck between chainring+bash. Is it set up wrong or do I just have a crap bash ring? No idea what the brand is, just bought it cheap off someone on here..

There are no spacers or anything, it's installed: chainring-crankarm spider-bash.

I want to get rid of my clunky/ugly DMR speed guide by doing the bash+jump stopper/pauls chain guide method, but obviously it's useless without a proper bash.

edit- actually, just took it apart and I have a spacer between chainring and spider, but it's only about 1-2mm. Reckon that's enough to make a gap big enough for a chain to fit?

I tried it without spacers and that's definitely the problem, chain is much closer now, no way it can slip through. To make this thread a bit useful, is there any point in having a tensioner roller wheel (as found on most chain guides), or will just using a jump stop be just as effective?
