My mistake, I have been forwarded on to "InaneDrivelWorld.com" by some malicious web link.

I'm off to MTBR.com as if you are after stuff about bikes its great, not so good on a the purile insult and tit-for-tat bitching though.

Mods feel free to delete my profile as I can't see how to do it my self...

Bye.

Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.

Personally I blame the people who sell things on ebay like guitars then post link on the classifieds page to it.

Don't you just hate attention whores who feel the need to announce their departures as well as their arrivals.

interestingly, you have contributed more to the non bike topics yourself. As Ghandi said, 'become the changes you seek'

20 of your last 40 posts were non bike related.

And who are you BTW?
I'm too old for all this multiple user names nonsense.

In fact, excluding this 'thread', you've only started a handful of bike threads - mostly you seem to be flogging stuff on Ebay. Hardly a loss to the forum then...

ssp is one of the good guy's.

I'm sure he was, up until the point he did a 'look at me! I'm fed up with everyone on here and now I'm going! You'll be sorry' Magicsick (or whoever the one who flounced off to make Mleh) -esque exit.

Expect someone who sounds very similar to ssp to reappear in a couple of weeks with a different username...

As a wise man one said:

I quite liked him BTW, now I know who he is.

If you're going to flounce, would it not be more effective to not change your name, so that people actually know who's flouncing? Just a thought...

Shame if ssp's really gone.
I didn't really get Solitude Cycles but he had a crack at doing something most of us just dream about.

I'm guessing he was really pissed off with the deletion by the mods of his posts about Specialized and the Epic trademark as well, judging by his previous user name.

is MTBR.com any good?

It has 3,000 different forums, that can't be bad.

SSP took a dislike to me as I found his frame designs minging and didn't hide the fact, not that I judge his character on that. Still if he's gone he's gone but he hasn't cancelled his account.

I made the mistake of trying to use the MTBR reviews to make a judgement on some forks a while back!

review 1 - 5/5 These forks are amazing!!! They go down the mountain really fast and are dead strong and have lots of bounce!!!

review 2 - 1/5 Don't buy these forks they are crap! they snapped when I jumped of a curb and I hit my balls on the stem.

Or something like that...

Also far too many forums, though the manufacturer forums can be useful when you have a specific problem to that bike/brand etc.

SSP is definately one of the good ones! (A bit of a hairless koala but never mind..")

And he knows a thing or 2 about bike design, not just another follower of fashion!!

He's well able to push a single cog too, I chased his fixed wheel 700km across the western himalaya's...

In fareness there is a lot of petty bitching and whinging on this site but inbetween all that(which I completely ignore!)there is some really usefull posts and some very knowlagable members who give good advice..But sometimes you really have to wade through the sludge..

SSP was one of the knowlegable members...

Farewell!

I don't think the fact that many haven't been able to ride for near on a month has helped the quality of the posts 🙂

bit of a shame, had a fair bit of repesct for him.

will shortly be posting a photo of my rejuvinated solitude, which looks normal (not one of his more wierd designes), just been done up again with new forks etc.

ah well.

hopefully i'll soon join the mtbr fun, when i start looking at places in N America to move to...

MTBR is worse than Bike Radar for having so many fora, why can't these things be combined so there's more than one post a week!

"InaneDrivelWorld.com"

how many years has it taken you to work this out - I thought that's why people came here

I won't miss you SSP.

As we can get together for a ride on any weekend. 🙂

On the subject of MTBR. If you want usefull advice that's the place to get it. Some of the people on there really know their stuff.

Still think this place is entertaining though just for the bitchyness and back stabbing of some of the so called adults. 😀

Why get wound up about leaving a forum FFS, I bet he is of the Mary Whitehouse brigade and complains about program content and forgets about the off or channel button. PMSL. I love this.

To me the forum reflects life - inane, beautiful, wise, ugly, stupid, funny, misguided, sad, compassionate - you get my drift.

I didn't realise when I joined that we all had to be perfect to post on here. I'm not perfect, better get my coat!

LOL, made me chuckle... I think sometimes the "perfect" people forget too that they were once not quite so! 😉

Take it easy SSP, in a way I don't blame you... There is more to life out there than a load of randoms on an internet forum that would start a fight with their own shadow!

But very occasionally you do actually get someone who knows what they're talking about and isn't too self important to give the benefit of their wisdom to others... Occasionally being the operative word though!

See you on the trails, probably in the FOD sometime...

I once thought to myself 'why bother with this sh!tty forum anyway, It's full of Dog-Snots who can't even think straight, never mind give a helpful answer to a question'
Then I thought to myself, 'I'd miss them' so I'm still here!

Here's a fugging radical suggestion: be a member of both STW and MTBR, and be entertained, horrified & informed by each, as required.

It's not like you have to choose sides in a global ideological conflict, or something.

Everyone seems grumpy these days, hardly anyone said hello back today. (perhaps they were teachers )

Though SSP seemed a nice guy.

For some sad reason I remember SSP announcing to the world that he was going to post on here again a couple of years back. Maybe 'ManyGearsAndAfreewheelPunk' is going to join soon.
