New bike, new tyres.
Been running the DHR DD 3C that came with the bike. After 18 days in the park the rear is losing its knobs and it's getting very drifty out back. Even the centre tread is looking a little worse for wear.
The super soft Aggesai up front is also starting to rip on the side knobs.
Was previously running DHR front and rear (3C up front) and they held up much better than these are. The front was destroyed, but the rear was holding up ok.
Heard that the new Schwalbe are a little harder wearing and offer plenty of grip.
Anyone care to recommend something suited to bike park riding?
After August/summer I'll likely swap to something more pedal friendly, but I fear I'm going to need a replacement on the rear sooner rather than later.
I made the swap to continental kryptotal after being a long term maxxis user, I wrote off a brand new dhr in a week in morzine last summer.
Made the swap when I got back, done a handful of UK bike park days and they still look new, I opted for DH casing in softest but they do many options.
Is this an old bike that's new to you? I don't mean second hand, I mean has this bike been sitting in storage for a long time? It doesn't sound like new DHR tyres to me. Although three weeks of dry park riding is going to chew through tyres.
They're MaxxTerra, yes? If MaxxGrip on the rear... they really don't last. If you had a dual compound rear DHR before, those do last much longer than even the 3C MaxxTerra.
Nope, new bike. Raaw Madonna. Got it in November, but only really ridden it in anger the last couple of months.

The triple compound Maxxis tyres are great when they're new but I found like you that the softer outer knobs rip off pretty quickly (an I think part of the issue is the boundaries between the layers). Much prefer the single compound of Continental tyres - I'm running Enduro Soft but have been really impressed at how they last.
Bike park/uplifted/rocky holiday riding is very harsh on any tyres though - I've had various different things that have basically been ready for the bin after a week with Basque MTB
Kryptotal softs are very good and last a freakishly long time in bikeparks.

I’ve used only Maxxis and Schwalbe for a few years, but recently tried out Kryptotals, and was extremely impressed. I can’t figure out what they are however - it doesnt say anything (that I can see) about what compound they are.
The longest lasting tyre I think i've had is MSC Gripper 2.4. Good front and rear. Absolute monster of a tyre as it's a true 2.4 (about the same as a Maxxis 2.6) and made to fit a wide rim so they have a really nicely rounded shape making them super predictable (opposite of a High Roller IME). Hard to come by though.
Now my kids are riding a lot it's costing me a fortune in tyres and over here everything else is more expensive than Maxxis - LBS gives me 20% off Maxxis which makes Conti's way too pricy as much as I want to try them.
I have Kryptotal soft on my FS. Kryptotals are great. So much so that I just swapped out a pair of Maxxis tyres (Rekon and Dissector) on a 6-month old hardtail for Kryptotal trail tyres. Maxxis wobble on both front and rear.

continental have a mysterious set of symbols to show tyre characteristics. The softness is shown by the number of filled in vertices in a small 4-vertex, 3-edge graph set on a hexagon
Son, who is permanent bike park dweller in Alps or NZ, now swears by cheapest Schwalbe hoofing heavy but super cheap rear tyres. He just accepts that cost of life is a new tyre every 2-3 weeks....When any shop has sales, he and housemates buy in bulk for the season (house of 8 riders...).
