Standard AXS setup. Working fine on Saturday. Hadn't ridden that bike for a while so had to upgrade both mech and shifter but batteries both in the green on AXS app and worked perfectly.
Tonight, shifter battery showing red. Changed it. Still showed red. Dud battery I thought, changed it. Still Red. Hmm. Reset phone in case app was playing up. Still red. Swapped for an entirely different batch/make. Now it shows green.
Rear mech now just clicks. Whatever I'm doing at the shifter end, it just makes clicking noises and doesn't move. Also seems to make the noises even when shifter not pushed. Dropped into 12th and it ain't moving!
It shows changing gear on the app and the shifter is definitely working. But no light on the mech.
If I press the AXS button on mech it flashes green for a short time then goes back to clicking. At some point the app said it needed charging so I put a fresh battery in, but same problem.
Also did the reset thing (battery out, hold AXS button, battery in, re-flash) and still no joy. Found an old thread on here where the fix was to leave it a while. Tried that didn't work either.
I think it's still under warranty. So worse case I'll try and get it replaced. Before then I was going to go for the nuclear option of deleting it from the app and trying re-pairing. Before I do that, have I missed anything obvious.
I had a similar issue a couple of years ago, everything was paired, batteries were good, app said all was ok but it wouldn't shift
In the end i deleted everything in the app, removed all the batteries for 24hrs, then refitted the batteries, paired the mech and shifter and added everything in the app, updated all the firmware and it worked again
I had a recent issue when the coin cell in my shifter went dead. I replaced the battery but nothing worked. I deleted the app then re installed it and started pairing the system from scratch. If you only have a shifter and a rear mech it’s easy. On my gravel bike I had to pair my rear mech with the front mech before pairing to the shifters. At first I paired the shifters to the rear mech then tried to pair the front mech. It won’t work that way.
Thanks both - I'll go for a full delete and 24 hour shutdown and see where we get to.
Could the mech have had a knock you don't know about?
Context: I was replacing the bushes in my X01 AXS mech at the weekend and somehow* the gears inside the motor unit got misaligned. Wouldn't shift and just clicked. Ended up having to re-strip the mech and then the motor unit to re-align the gears. Works spot on now.
* might have been when I was having to hammer out one of the pins with a punch
Forum ate my reply. So short version. Mech battery out last night. Re-installed as last test before full nuke it from space. Of course it's all working fine now. Take it out later to see if this continues to be the case. Assume it was battery swaps at shifter and mech end triggered the electronic sulk.
@teethgrinder - I did crash on that side on Sat but it got me home. Still not really happy how it stopped working and is now apparently fully repaired now.
