To stop thorns etc causing a puncture i.e. sits between tube and tyre.

work fine in my experience and fatties tubeless up very easily. Folks are trying to get the rolling weight of fatties down, hence ultralight tyre casings, ghetto tubeless etc...adding a load more weight to the wheels just seems a bit counter-intuitive

I've never ridden a fat bike but for normal bikes, sealant works fine in the wet. Half my riding is in the rain 🙁

Hey, no need for carping....
Only sealant-in-the-wet issue I had was with ghetto tubeless using a non-TL Conti raceking with leaky sidewalls, foamed up and lost pressure once it got wet. Never had an issue with a proper tubeless setup.
