Not been down here have you? No one acknowledges anyone else on the Tube, it just isn't the done thing...

I didn't know that, and the sarcasm/ironing wasn't obvious in your post.

Hence my favourite game when I'm Darn Sarf and on the tube - make eye contact. Add a smile.
Never have I known such a friendly, open gesture freak so many people...

What a bunch of uptight priks, Good on her for trying to raise a smile on those dour buggers faces, try that on the subway in glasgow and you'd have the entire carriage singing along shouting for more and stamping their feet, then again folk on the subway in Glasgow would prob be just as inebriated as Kim

Wish I'd been there, I'd have grabbed the mike.

There wasn't a mike?

I'd have found a bottle...

Quality, good on her, loved her then, love her even more now, didn't even mind her Dad.

Of course no one is singing as we are not aware if the train company has a prs or ppl licence. Could leave yourself waaay open to prosecution.
Lady in a chip shop didn't want to buy a licence so she sang to her customers but still got busted.
Ps yes I do have to buy those bloody licences so I can listen to pop master.

According to the latest census there was little chance any of them spoke English and even less they were here in the 80's.

They probably think she is some drunk middle aged woman caterwauling away - fun if you had a few drinks, less so if you haven't and just want to unwind and get home in peace and quiet.
