Nice. Understated, I like it.
Although you have committed the sin of using "brought" instead of "bought". I hate it.
I must agree with Reevil, the spelling makes the bike ugly now, sorry.
EDIT: damned sneaky edit 😉
saddle angle/position looks interesting.
I considered one of these as a cheap toe int he water for 29" riding but ended up with a cross bike instead.
oh, and someone's nicked your pedals.
Looks interesting.
Tempted.
^ one is a pic from a STW review a while ago, i'm guessing its the 19" mine will be much more smallest for clown like feats.
well tidy.
is it good value for money? well built? cheap tat that'll fall apart after 50miles?

Ah, the old "here's a picture, but not of mine" trick. 😉 I like it.
Its just been ordered but not delivered yet, so no pics of my bike yet, i'll post some once its here.
Its supposed to be okish quality wise, but you obviously get what you pay for.
120mm rear end for added weirdness.
Do you get baggy arsed, tight legged trousers with it? 🙂
Every fibre of my reactionary, comfort-zone being says I should hate it!
Weirdly; I don't. Looks really nice, in fact. Especially for that kind of money. What is it?
*wonders if there really isn't room for any more bikes*
I just see a dark bike against a dark background (Mr Banks).
Go on then, give us a clue, what is it?
DOH! yea = Vitus Vee1 29er
@Rusty - Vitus. Though I'd rather have something with just one big wheel, set at an angle 😉
What ist?
... its arrived ... in the biggest bike box I've ever seen! complete with complimentary pedal spanner, allen keys, energy bars & water bottle!!! Well done CRC.
It's been assembled and a quick spin round the block and it sure feels B I G, I'll ride for longer tomorrow and post some pics.
🙂
That canal needs mowing
That canal needs mowing
No, this canal needs mowing!
So first ride up the tow path for a few miles and then across town for a cuppa at a friends and my impressions of my first 29er experience are:
Seemed like sitting on top of a penny farthing initially, but this soon wore off.
Hoiking the front wheel in the air is a bit of a struggle, i don't think i'd be too confident bunny hopping kerbs at speed just yet.
The ride appears pretty harsh, but then the tyres are pumped up hard out of the box and i havn't dropped the pressures yet, but i guess with the whole bike at £249.99 it might be asking a bit much for compliance out of an alloy frame and HiTen fork.
Steering feels pretty quick with the 80mm stem and i reckon spot on for carving through Londinium traffic or single track (Tm) trees.
29" wheels do seem to roll over things rather easily.
The Mrs did remark as she slung her leg over my fully rigid steed that an extra 3" seemed to improve her riding experience.
Time will tell how the budget affects longevity, Joytec hubs, no name freewheel, no name V brakes & no name headset - but hey its only £249.99.
Only upgrade has been some £15 bear trap pedals and i may consider a Mary bar, but thats it until things break.
........now, how'd i enter SSUK2012....................????
hows the bike going?
hope he's not fallen in the canal on that funny looking bike! 😉
lol his hat will save him 😀
Morning Sam, I got your email. Buy one. For the tow path and pub its perfect and if it were to get nicked its cheaper than loosing a suspension fork. I will ride mine off road proper at some point and I think it'll do fine, time will tell how long the bike lasts. It'd be wrong not to thrash it. If I can get organised to post an entry I may take mine to SSUK.
post more pics when your out,you may need to start an owners club 😀
how did you get it for £249 they are £269 now 👿
£15 discount code that I got from someone on here + £5 discount voucher CRC sent me due to a delayed order.
how did you get it for £249 they are £269 now
CRC are always doing £10, £15, £20 etc money-off codes, subject to a minimum spend.
qwerty - seriously tempted to pick one up after seeing your pics!
edit: oops...qwerty beat me to it.
Just got a Voodoo 29er off eBay for similar purpose - commute plus occasional off road excursion. Perfect sort of bike for the job. Probably heavier than one of these though- that's a nice bike for 250 quid!
im going to order mine tonight, how long did you have to wait for delivery qwerty?
placed an order waiting for the postman lol ,
QWERTY start the vitus owners thread of lol 😆

My Mrs is of the same opinion. 🙂
