[Closed] Ideal urban park ride spot?

Hi all,

I am sort of involved with a project to put in a purpose built ride spot in a local park. Most of the local kids are into BMX and dirt jumping. We already have a reasonable sintered BMX jump track, a concrete street/skate bowl and a mini ramp humped area in other nearby parks and we feel a jump track/area would be a good addition to the local regions facilities. Could any of you give me info on some really good spots and any companies that put in such facilities?.

Ideally they would be hardwaring and not requiring constant tendering (like a mud track). Any pics/info or ideas really welcome.

Thanks

S

My mate works for a company called groundworks I think who do a lot of skate parks, bmx tracks etc for councils. Also look at biketrack (.org i think) who have done some.

SingletrAction have recently been involved in building a jump spot nr Leeds. Basically, the council went in with diggers and materials and made a mess and an absolute arse of it all. People from SingletrAction, who know what they're doing, went in and sorted it all out, shaping jumps and putting things together correctly, with the correct surfacing materials.

There is a slot on the STA forum about it here, (Buck woods skills spot thread) with pics. They are now onto the pump track. There's no specific info about the site yet, so you would have to scan the threads. You could contact Cheeky Monkey who is STA chairman, via the main STA website. He'll no doubt give you the low down and specs etc.

When you say jump track do you a set of trails or a pump track? There are some good BMX track builders out there who I'm sure could knock you up either:
