Strongly considering the Mojo HD 140 as my next bike, yay for me! 8)
Can't quite decide on colour though 🙄 - it's a toss up between the gleaming white with the super sexy clear carbon bits (held one in my hands today, good it looked good!), or the uber stealthy looking matte black (same finish as the current Mojo SL I think?)
I do like the black, but I'm thinking that it might be a bit more prone to showing up scratches etc in the clear coat? Whereas the white will hide them a bit more perhaps (unless they're very deep)? Plus it's easier to touch up marks in a painted frame I'd think?
What have been folks experiences with the carbon Ibi and their various finishes? All thoughts and comments welcome 🙂

We have a couple of the white frames in the shop and I think they look stunning. I have a carbon Blur XC in black, but I would have preferred the 2011 red colour scheme. Mibbe the whole black/carbon thing is just too passé nowadays?

Went into Mosquito today to have a chat about ordering the upcoming HD 140, they happened to have a white HD in there, I must've spent 30 minutes or so gazing at it and stroking its curves, the clear carbon sections are awesome to look at, really look good against the white! Up until now, I've been set on the black, but now I'm not so sure!
Black bikes are harder to keep looking clean than white bikes, having owned both.
White's where it's at. But it's also dangerously too-trendy. Offset this with some purple ano. 😉

It'll be running a set of white Lyrik's for a while as well (till I can afford a 2011 kashima coated Fox Float), so a lot of white in there...
Lot's of gold accents though (The One brakes, mango CK hubs, Cane Creek Angleset headset... and I'll be getting the links gold anodized as well 8) ) Which is kind of why I liked the black, I love a good gold and black colour scheme, not so sure if white & gold (with some black) will work so well...
Oooooh... just realised the 2011 Float 36 is white (and gold, with the Kashima coating!)... the plot thickens! 😆
Ive got and done the white SL, going black for the 140 HD 😆
I've had the matte black Ibis for two years and it is harder to keep clean looking, but when it is clean/shined up, really stands out, especially with red Chris King hubs/headset, red Ibis Mojo SL linkage and red spoke nipples.
I haven't scratched it except for a couple of small spots, but I'm riding much more sanely at this point in my life. I did put a clear plastic protection sheath all way down the underside of the downtube to keep rocks from dinging it.
After having both a clearcoat Mojo and a green one, I'd have the white one, the paint is easy to touch up, the clearcoat dries out and cracks. I'm sure it's come on quite a lot since the original Mojo, but I'm definitely a fan of the thick tubing and paint, dirt just falls off.
Not to mention how good it'd look with the new 2011 Fox!
I thought that the clearcoat might fade/crack here in the US SW, but I ride in 80-100F degree sun all summer and so far no cracking/fading (of course it could also be my eyesight or denial). I do keep it polished with Pedro's Frame Lust (or whatever the name is---it is a silicone polish) and that may be what keeps it. Sun/heat a problem here that just fries anything plastic, like cable housings, etc.
I do agree that the white with the new Fox would look great and Toasty is right about the painted ones much easier to cover up scratches/dings that eventually show up.
I can't believe you haven't gone for the Vitamin P - so magical that it looks different in just about every photo!
Out of the white or black, I'd go for the white, but I do worry about how 'current' it is, whereas the black is pretty timeless.
The white one is stunning IMO the best looking bike in the best colour you can currently buy.
I would sell my soul to the devil himself for one 😉
Just back from a few laps of Richmond Park on my (standard) Mojo 🙄 Still, mustn't grumble.
With a bit of luck I might get a chance at one of these later in the year, in 140 flavour- did you get any idea of when they'll start shipping?
The ibis store had the linkage for the 140 conversion a wee while back, but they've all gone now- pretty cheap, but then you need to buy a shock as well, and a new fork I'd have thought- as far as my thinking goes, with ibis saying it's 32 compatible, the intent would seem to be to give you a chance to build a lighter bike, with the same handling, durability and stiffness as the HD160. I'm not sure if there'd be much point in having say a 180 Talas dropped down with the frame set up - might as well just keep it as the 160.
Vitamin-P mmmm

It's a stunning colour, no doubt, but maybe a little too garish for me... haven't seen it in the flesh yet, so not writing it off just yet...

If it was a gloss black like the white is, then it'd be a no brainer for me, but the clear/matte black finish (whilst it looks uber stealth and cool new), I'm a little worried about how much the inevitable scratches etc will show up in it (yes, I am a tart!)...

Mosquito are looking into it for me, they actually didn't even know about the HD 140 variant 😆 they're trying to sell me to an SL, but I want the adaptability of the HD if I'm going for a Mojo! It's a pretty hefty frame to hold in your hands btw, feels rock solid!
Vinny - you live in Richmond then?
have you tried riding one yet? rather than just thinking about whether the colour will match your eyes? 🙂
[I might wander down to Mosquito this afternoon for a look]
If you buy the white one and get sheep-poo on it, clean it straight away, as you may develop a weird camo look paint scheme. 😀
Happened to me the other week! (Not an Ibis, I'll hasten to add.)

Nope, haven't taken one for a test ride, it's a bit tough to arrange a Mojo HD demo, though I do think there's one floating around the UK, guess I should get it booked in!
sligth aside, im looking at the hd 160 but have heard of chainguide issues which puts me off slightly as i want to run it 1x9/10. anyone know a fix for this?
to be fair, I've mostly bought bikes on looks and reviews alone
and the Ibis Mojo is high up on my wanted list, lovely bikes

If you haven't found it already, mtbr .com has a good active Ibis forum, I'd suggest posting on there ((there's a 1 x 10 thread running on there at the moment in fact)

Same here tbh... though this'll most likely be my last 'high-end' bike for a while, so want to make it count!

+1.
white, no contest. Even more so with the carbon "cutaway" sections.
Errrr... where and when can I get a HD 140?
Need, need, need, need, need!
white definately
btw do you need special glasses to ride the HD?
That's the Ibis Mojo 3D. Not available until 2012.
The Limbo Chips should be with us shortly, HD stock is getting better too but they are still in crazy high demand so if you are keen I would recommend placing pre-orders with your local dealer.
The black does look pretty nice though!
Mojo HD 140
Oh and one for the crossers
Any dealers in the Oxfordshire area??
the dealer search our UK Ibis site is pretty good, just fire in your post code and away you go! If nobody nearby there are a few online dealers.

Vit P on order here - will start off with 160 but will get the limbo chips & shock to mix and match. Reckon 140mm for Surrey Hills all the way to 160mm rear 180mm front for Alps trips. Cane Creek Angleset too when available, and seriously tempted to go 1x10.
2Pure - any idea when the next shipment hits our shores??
