i have just moved house and feeling a little down as the new area must have some decent stuff just yet to find it. i was just spoilt by my previous location; top single track and mates from my front door.
anyway i was slipping down the street in my new town yesterday feeling a bit pissed off with the snow, injuries niggling and general non cycling blues when at the lights two young ladies pull up, one on a maxlite 120 and the other on a carbon scott both hand built with a mix of top end but clearly well used and trail abused parts. they were both dressed in quality gear with the tell tale signs of high mileage riders (patched goretex, well worn winter boots, helmet light clamp still on). 'hello' i said and told them of my move and the need for good trails in the locality. they then proceeded to, with much enthusiasm, tell me of all the good routes in the area, confirming my hopes of 'sweet single track', '2 hr blasts', '4/6hr beastings' and 'great loops' they then with a smile said that their road bikes and singlespeeds were to dodgy in this weather and were off to the gym to do some weights and spin! they then sped(at a pace) off with grins and waves into the snow.
i feel much better now and still cant work out if i slipped into a mint sauce strip for a moment. if the ladies visit here, thanks, you made my day.

For some reason this thread make me think of cheesy 70s music, unfeasibly large moustaches and poorly dubbed dialog

For those of us that found tang's post somewhat difficult to read:

It was all a dream

i am a 34yr old married man, i have no interest in other ladies as my wife is a certified stunna. for the record one was pierced and cool, the other brunette and pretty. and yes there was talk of a wednesday nightride, with others incl men. might i add there was nothing salacious to this tale, just some friendly nice young women who love to ride their bikes.

Did the conversation work its way round to innovative uses for chamois cream by any chance?
