I can now see the floor, I have filled up two bike boxes with crap, found loads of 'missing' stuff and I polished all the surfaces with GT85 so now it smells proper again!

yey!

Why aren't the firebox thingy's legs not directly on the ground? (Seeing as the ground is stone...)

Definitely too tidy, too.

because its a portable stove only 500mm high and I have a bad back.

only tidy because it was just finished. It is now taking its first tentative steps towards a more "teenager bedroom bombsite" state of existence....

A garage should be like one of these puzzles
[img] [/img]
If you can walk straight in you are doing it wrong and don't have maximum amount of man toys for the man shed. Moving anyone item should require a huge re-jig of the all man toys.

your floor is missing stainage, choose from the following and apply liberally:
- engine oil
- paint
- charcoal
- brake fluid
- blood

Trout.... I always thought you had a much bigger garage !!!!

Given what you do , didnt you talk about building a trial landy a bit back ? Did you do the build on your drive ? Id like ti deck out my garage down one side like that but my want to get the land rover in fairly often to work on itduring the cold prohibits perminant structures

they were on special at 69quid when i bought the roll cab and i wish id bought 1 then.

im reluctant to buy them at 99 quid as i know halfords will put them on special next month if i do !

i have that top box - but branded as sealey. got it as a graduation present from my dad.

the bottom chest looks better than what ive got - mines the halfords pro 5 drawer - but i only paid 120 quid for it in a sale - halfords stuff is only good value when on sale.

Same single Garage a few years ago with the landy project
99% of the work was done inside due to the bastid next door neighbour.

[IMG] [/IMG]
[IMG] [/IMG]

I seem to need a bigger workshop for these little projects now

sold the trialer and it is still going strong the new owner even tested my welding out with a forward roll

cheers trout - thats what my garage will be like once i finish tearing the body work off my 90.

im planning to keep the look of the 90 with mine - will get all the welding done inside as my neighbours little boy has down syndrome and is noise sensitive, then wheel it back out to do the body work.

Flowers are for the campervan which is now in it's winter 'builders van' mode. Table saw is superb.

Very jealous of the man caves. I've just got a three tiny sheds (ex-coal bunker and outside lavvy) crammed full of stuff.

Slightly concerned by the number of bikes with apparently no security though.
Where are the ground anchors, U-locks, and security chains?

number 1 id never put photos of my locks and security on here

number 2 - mines bar the 2 commuter bikes live else where that is easier to secure than the main garage and away from all the powertools/power

Footflaps - yes, hopefully not too OCD! I spent 6 years with bikes in a cellar in our old house and couldn't find anything. Got it right this time around. Always laugh when non-cycling friends come round and say 'how many bike do you need?' - and that's before they even see where the nice bikes are...

will watch that when i get home trout work doesnt let youtube in.

Im trying to find an unmolested autobox and torque converter so i can rattle my v8 in. i have two lt77s - ones knackered the others 4cyl diesel fitment

sounds mean in the disco with a full exhuast system on - wait till its twin mid body exit with just enough silencer capacity to keep it below the maximum Db rating for trialing

At a guess you made the mistake of letting the other half have a say as to what goes in your cave. MTFU and defend your territory, or perhaps you could ask NickNoxx for some flowers instead?

Thanks Trail rat, I must confess I didn't build it though. One half of the couple who I bought the house from was a professional artist and it was her studio.
I'm sure she'd be horrified to have the seen the numerous motorbikes and mountain bikes in various stages of builds I've had in there.

wwaswas, at a stretch I'd agree, it is an extension of me!

Thanks wrecker...

Needs a rehash and a bit of a tidy but have recently built up 2 bikes, in the middle of doing up house so tools are everywhere. Looking at the other thread about what is needed from a garage, this has pretty much everything i need apart from permanent heating... lady pics, kettle, lots of lights, lots of plugs, big bench, lots of shelves, big mat to mop up oil and mud.

I designed and built my own man cave last summer. Built mainly from materials I had previously liberated form other jobs. Fully insulated with lambs wool, all internal cabling, etc. It sports a 48Inch plasma tv in front of the turbo trainer set up. Surf boards on walls and a nice office desk 🙂

Inside is all plastered white with spots. Obviously it has a fridge 😀

[IMG] [/IMG]

I love it 😀

MintyJim- at first glance I thought that the black bracket thing above the painting was some kind of commemorative/trophy AK47 you had fixed to the wall..

Very happy viewing this thread as for the first time in my life after recently purchasing a property I have a garage 🙂

So far, it just has my girlfriend's 'work stationary' in there 😕

That will soon change though, I'll get pics up when I fully move in..

Stoner, shouldn't you be emptying that mancave so you can screed the block and beam floor? I don't think they like being left bare as the blocks move and wear.

Can I claim my shed to be a man cave? It's big enough to store just 3 bike in and I do have to move 2 out if I want to work on the other.

Plenty of tools and stickers everywhere though.

Wish I had a garage 🙄

I have nothing useful to add here. Just... jealous!

Old "man cave" gets demolished tomorrow and the new one arrives Monday. Best part is I get to concrete plane the floor so it can be painted (luxury). Pictures will follow.

mine is certainly a WIP. more like a storage zone as we do up the house. need to do many things but on the list is

- new roller door
- used kitchen units to be installed
- lay down some flooring
- add some lighting
- work out some bike storage whilst managing to get the wifes car in during winter / snow
- tidy the pit up!
