Specialized Zee cage and hip pack.  I've got a Camelbak hip pack with a bladder but have been getting by with just a bottle to date as my rides are not epic in length.  Soooooo much nicer than a full on hydration pack. But in this heat I'm still dripping.

I find my camelbak makes very little difference to sweating - so I use it with, or without the bladder - it gives me some back protection after breaking my spine on a road bike.   Short rides, it's a bottle, but with the camelbak, long with the added weight of a bladder.

Mrs Kilo has been doing singletrack 6 in Canada this week and after back issues on day four bought and evoc hip hydration pack. She really liked it, found it comfortable for biking and it didn't move around much. She won't go back to a backpack now.

Evoc must be at the top of your list if looking for comfortable packs.

they also have some nifty features for safety and use hydrapak bladders.

they have a ladies one at circa 50% off at Silverfish UK currently that is if you’re a lady 😜

Just use bottles isn’t the most helpful comment when there’s clearly only room for a single bottle and possibly only a small bottle at that.

On my hightower I’m using a side load cage and can just squeeze a 610ml camelback bottle in. Using a oneup pump with the tool in the handle, spare tube strapped under the DT (bonus rock protection too!) custom weeding bag in the frame with tubeless worms, spare valve cores, spare cable and small first aid kit (plus lots of other stuff I’ve probably forgotten!)

In the past I’ve supplemented this with soft bottles in pockets or the pouch on the back of my bibs, I’ve just bought a camelback bum bag to make it even more versatile for longer days out so I can carry an extra 1.5l of water and a waterproof jacket. I’ll keep all the tools on the bike still as I don’t like the thought of landing on anything lumpy in a crash!

I use this. https://www.ospreyeurope.com/shop/gb_en/talon-6-17

as I have no bottle mounts on my Rallon, thanks for that omission Orbea.

Water bottles is still my preferred method but, if thats not possible, I use a Wingnut Assault (bought direct from the US website)....sits low down your back like a bum bag style pack but has straps to improve stability (I tried the bumbag style packs and they all moved around too much on the rough stuff unless you tightened them up like a corset...maybe they are better now but I cant see how if you're still relying on one strap around your waist)

I recently added an extra cage mount to my road bike, so I could take three bottles totalling ~2.7 litres out with me.

https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-accessories/bike-bottles-cages/topeak-bottle-cage-mount (got mine a bit cheaper in flash sale the other week, plus then used BC discount).

Can be fitted to seatpost or bars.

Put a cage on the top tube, or even under the downtube? Elite VIP zip tie on type bosses could work:

Worth a punt for £8... There are other similar products, I think mavic used to do one...
