Anyone running a pair on a xc orientated 29er care to offer an opinion on what combo, and what are they like?
Been looking at the Toro and Taipan.
I have a pair of Toros on the hardtail and they seem very good, slightly narrow for a 2.3 though.
Toros: 2.35 front 2.15 rear does it for me....covers all terrain that I'm capable of mincing about on.
We've got: sharp rocky, slippery rooty, hardpack, grassy and slop......I've never ripped a sidewall (unlike some of my mountain king sporting friends)
Good reasonably light all rounders.
Be quick though.... Getting harder to find
Running Toros on my Sherpa, they are ace, very fast and grip well in the corners, would definitely recommend them.
Got a pair of Toros but can't get them on my Stans 29er crest rims
Toro hardskin rr on my 29er here as my "every day'" tyre. It's been great on southern woodsy singletrack, Wales and rocks and gravel trails.
Here you go, a full selection and all reduced!
