Iv changed the wheels on my orange five they had a 135mm maxle through the rear wheel. Anyway i changed my frame to a Whyte G150 2014 and bought some wheels with a rear 142mm rear hub not knowing any different they seem to fit fine. How would i have known if they were right or wrong for the frame?
I thought frames were specced as being either 135mm QR, 135mm x 9 Thru, or 135mm x 12 Thru, or most up to date, 142mm x 12. So why wouldn't you know which rear hub to use ? I'm not sure I understand the question....
I didnt realise the 135mm was something i needed to be aware of, so i bought some new wheels which the rear was 142mm but didnt pay attention to this. Fitted them to my bike fine but was curious as iv either dropped lucky or iv have fitted the wtong size hub
If they were right then they would fit properly if wrong then they wouldn't . 135 X 12 is a pretty unusual size these days , most are 142 X 12 .
