Just got my Alfine hub back from Madison. The nice people who serviced it have fitted a new cog. But they've fitted it the "right" way round, not flipped, so my chainline is now out. But the new one also has a chainguard. Will it clash if I flip it? How easy is it to remove?

Cheers

my understanding is Alfine sprockets aren't dished so removing the guard and flipping it won't make any difference.

its the nexus ones that are dished and you can flip.

I could well be wrong

podge is right. they cost buttons so you might as well get a nexus sprocket

The plastic guard comes off dead easy if you just use a screwdriver to break the small tags off.

My LBS is quoting £30/£40 for 8-spd, £20/£30 for 11-spd
