[Closed] How painful is it waiting for a new bike? What are you waiting on?

Worse than waiting is knowing I have 2 bikes in boxes sat in the UK whilst I'm away for another 7 weeks in Morzine 🙁

The foxy and the zerode will have to wait!

P7 frame - when it arrives, I'll then order a SS-specific dropout from Orange, and other parts...

Me too.Codeine on bloody well arrived.
First thoughts.
1.It's smurf blue
2.It's so heavy it's created a gravity well and is bending the light.
3.I'm either racing, training or working for the next 6 weeks so it'll live in it's box again for a while.

Just got the 'your bike is being built' email from canyon so am eating a load of chocolate to celebrate and offset any weight savings the bike might give me.

nearly there, wee trip to crc tonight to pick up a new chain and a gear inner, tyres are probably overkill too and the haven bar will most likely be swapped for something flat

(garden is under construction.............)

On One now have the forks in stock! Yay! Build queue is now 21 days and I am not even in the build queue yet. Boo!
I expected to have a build date by now seeing as the forks were in at the start of the week. Big BOO!

I'm still waiting on SRAM issuing the replacement hydro brakes for my very unused TCX Advance1..
It'll have gone mouldy by the time I get it back on the trails 😐

Did you not get the mechanical replacements 'while you're waiting'?

How does it work with buying a full build online (with no changes to spec)?

Are the bikes waiting to go or do they need to be built/checked prior to despatch?

Any pics of the finished product?

Adding to the topic, 1 week in to an approx 8 week wait for a Soul 275.

Patience has never been my strong point and I now have daily wheel size debates in my head. Oh, those poor kittens!!

Waiting on a Ribble R872 since last Monday; as long as its in my sweaty palms before I go on holiday in 16 days I will be happy, if its not I will have a bottom lip you could use as a diving board.

I ran out of time to do it "right" so robbed wheels off another bike to get it going for the EWS. Turned out not bad...

Cheers chaps, it's actually re-anodised by Steve the Anodiser, turned out lovely- it flipflops a bit, goes almost candy apple red in low light or really bright in direct sun, not what I'd planned but it's cool. I'll do a proper attention whore thread once its got its plastic wheels in.

So, Northwind, you are a Cotic fan then?

(I may well be looking for justification / reason why my agonising through an 8 week wait is worth it 🙂 )

Judging by the STW collectives usual reaction to you / a bike. Is this one a keeper then?

Is that Steve the Anodiser from Berks/Surrey way? If it is (and how many Steve the Anodisers are there) not seen him around for years.

Yeah, I'm basically married to this one... Though, the others have all moved on now, just sold my Soda to fund this refurb.

@Hora - it was £130 including return post, though I think that included my hubs too. So it's pretty competitive with powdercoat, fast turnabout too. The finish has no coverage obviously so if the frame's marked or damaged you'll still see it- this one had a mark on the headtube frinstance, that's why the headbadge is so huge! Oh, it seems to shed mud well too. Really pleased.

I'm waiting on a 26" 65mm wide carbom rim for my half fat bike. Should be around 350/400g lighter than my current rim 🙂 and a LB 29er 35mm rim for the back, which will save another 270g.

Don't worry Chiefgrooveguru, if I put the long rocker in it, it goes right back to looking like a crane.

Gosh was it only a week ago since my " I'm still waiting for my TCX Advance1 SRAM brake recall"? Whine ?

Well here's another, I'm still waiting.

Bloody "were shipping them out horseshite" publicity stunt, that's what it is.

And no, Giant asked me to take the bike in for the refit because they said they were ready for it, took off the brakes to send back to SRAM so they can swap them 1:1 🙄
