just changed the tyres on my tourer.....schwalbe marathons, the front has got a little slit, which has punctured twice in the same spot. the rear has got a bit out of shape, like it wont seat proper no matter how hard I try.
they have done 4433 miles as of this morning.
fit for purpose...worth contacting schwalbe to complain..... ๐
Thats pretty decent.
I tend not to get that sort of mileage out of tyres because I'm always pulling wicked skidz to impress the girlz
Same tyres on my cross commuting bike. 1000 miles so far and still look like new, not had a single puncture either.
Long enough that I don't really know. Except for my Michelin Pro 3s, as they went all cracky after about 500 miles, and my Nobby Nics and Racing Ralphs as they were pretty much worn out by the time I got them onto the wheels.
Oh, and 73.16 kilometres out of a supertacky highroller.
and my Nobby Nics and Racing Ralphs as they were pretty much worn out by the time I got them onto the wheels.
I found Nobby Nics okay but yeah Racing Ralphs were pretty shagged after half a dozen rides
My last set of road tyres died of old age before I got chance to wear them out ๐ (GP4 seasons, apparenlty leaving the bike outside in the summer isn't one of the '4seasons' they're intended for, UV degredation cracked the sidewalls).
Nice road tyres usualy get replaced arround the 2000mile mark, usualy a mix of 'had a couple of flats = must be worn out', and upgradeitis. I do tend to go through phases fo riding it a lot though so it tends to be that they just get replaced when I did it out in spring.
MTB tyres, 1 summer or 3 winters if I avoid the roads. Or 2 weeks holliday, with a noteable drop off in the 2nd week for soft compounds.
