Whittled down to three:
MTB: Solaris
Cross/winter/commuter: Kinesis Pro6
Summer road: Tarmac SL4
Would add, if space and budget allowed:
FS 29er
Langsterish SS
Fatty
Brompton
But from past experience I know they wouldn't get enough use.
4. In order of use:
Thorn Raven SS
LeJeune road bike on Turbo
5 Spot
Klein Fervor
Wife has 3. Must own about 6 ton of chain and the world's biggest padlocks which were sourced from a MOD base in Poole.
cynic-alFat bike (full suss, hone made)
I got to see photos of this machine!!
I'm not too sure and I don't want to count, but I have 14 'keepers' which I'll be trying to get down to.
1 + 1/2
Hardtail 26
Marin Palisades Trail SS comuter in construction
I used to have a few then realised I hte having bikes that rarely get used (how often do all of your bikes actually get out if you're one of the 6+ people?).
Now it's 1 6inch full sus which does downhill and big rides plus bike park freeride stuff.
1 hardtail, jumpy long travel fun for downhill and short forest rides.
1 commuter for occasional trips to town.
The two mountain bikes handle everything and get roughly equal use. I'm happy with things this way and am trying to resist buying a downhill rig simply to keep up with my mates on DH days!
1 HT
1 FS
1 winter road bike
1 summer road bike
1 20 year old HT + 1 even older steel tourer on loan to son and his GF at uni
2 frames hanging up that I ought to get rid of but might just come in handy for some daft project in the future
Oh and the wife's hybrid and the other son's FS which he never uses because he is too busy playing on his X box ( he is 31!)
1 winter/cross bike
1 hardtail mtb
1 old race bike (hung up, sentimental, brought me some good wins/results)
New road bike on way
Short travel 29er full Sus in pipeline
And if my litespeed saber frame doesn't sell then I guess a new fixie/tt bike!
2 road summer and winter.
3 mountain. Bouncy, rigid and shopper.
13 for me, 11 are mine though but need to shed a couple as not really used enough but got a mate building me a road fixie frame and craving for a fatty and a BMX cruiser to play/maybe race on.
"Waheyyy look at the size of mine!!"
*bounds into the middle of the ring, naked, hands behind head pelvic thrusting*
Just 3:
- winter/commuter road bike
- nice road bike
- 100mm FS MTB
4 would like another 2
Posh Cervelo road bike
Not quite as posh Giant road bike for crits
Dolan winter road bike
Flat bar Roadrat
Soul
Blur
Rigid single speed
Hack/lend-to-people hardtail
Hack/lend-to-people roadbike
So that makes 9... I did have 11, sold one but no idea what happened to the other...
Five (although one them is technically hers, but I paid for it and built it up, so therefore its mine!).
SX Trail
BFe built up as a jump / mucking about bike
Allez Sport (first new bike in ages and gets loads of use worringly)
Chameleon ('hers')
Old Cannondale Beast of the East (not sure of the year)
Keep thinking that I'd like another DH bike but it wouldn't really get that much use and would cost me a fortune. I often get tempted by bargain frames / bikes on retrobike. Normally thinkgs that I lusted after when I first started riding but could never afford. So far I've managed to resist.
I own 'sufficient' plus two more.
4 in my garage.
29er Single speed, ridden regularly.
26" hardtail for xc/bivvy trips.
Winter road/turbo bike, used loads.
Nice road bike, for when the sun shines?
just sold full suss as had been ridden about 6 times in 18 months.
would like a CX.
5 here
first MTB - now pub bike
retro hardtail - can't get rid of it
Ti hardtail
Full Susser
Road bike
Am likely to get a Brompton this year and would love another road bike and a basic singlespeed - repeat until divorce.
3
Full bouncer for uplift and alp type trips
Do it all hardtail
Cyclocross bike (when I fit the drop bars, skinnier tyres etc to the karate Monkey)
Road race bike
Time trial bike
Track bike
Cross bike
140mm fun bike
XC race bike
Single speed jump bike
Plus 3 frames sat here just now...
Then gf has:
Cross bike
Nice road bike
Mtb
Winter road bike
Ratty town bike
1 full susser 26er for trail riding - pretty much stock components, apart from the wheels and frippery like pedals and grips.
1 HT 29er so I can be like the cool kids (especially in winter)- pretty much stock again, just the grips and pedals again
1 HT 26er (for commuting) - build up from random stuff in the cupboard.
Mr Toast has a full susser (26er), a 29er HT, a cyclocross and a couple of frames, and an inexplicably large pile of tyres.

9 for me:
Litespeed Blueridge titanium tourer
Roberts Roughstuff - steel 26' wheels touring bike (may sell).
Dahon MuP8 folder - commuting duties.
Dawes Galaxy - stored at relatives so I can ride when visit 😀
Giant FCR1 - flat barred road bike. At Father in laws so I can ride when visiting 😀
Bob Jackson steel audax (may sell).
Dawes One Down - steel 26' wheels touring bike for winter duties.
Edinburgh Revolution Country Explorer - disc braked steel tourer (may sell)
Pearson Compass - steel touring bike. While not my best bikes (which are the Litespeed and the Roberts) I really like this as I did the Coast to Coast in May 2012 on this 😀
My wife says I have too many bikes and while I may sell three, I have a new frame to build up...
Two Yetis, Missy and Betty.
4.5
ss 29er rigid
29er hardtail
fixie
cx\commuter
unicyle
They all get used except the Unicyle which was a silly Lidl purchase for a laugh.
I'll like to add a £1k ish road bike too (maybe bike scheme if my employers do it again)
I'd probably add a short\medium travel FS too if I had the cash
2:

Orange 5.
Orange Diva (GF's).
1989 Saracen Tufftrax.
2007 + 1992 Orange Clockwork frames, ready for a rebuild.
Used to have loads more but when my GF moved in she decided the bike rooms had to become a dining room and spare bedroom. 🙄
Hopefully moving to a house with a garage soon so the collection will no doubt rise again. Got my eye on a 1990 Marin Eldridge and fancy a FS 29er, just don't tell our lass!

1 hardtail
1 singlespeed
1 retro rigid
1 jump bike
then i broke the jump bike, sold the singlespeed, and lent the rigid to a friend and never got it back...he said it got stolen while he was at uni..
that left me with the 2 f/s bike and the hardtail which i kept...then 18 months ago we bought a new house which didnt have a big garage like the old one so the wife forced me to "sacrifice" one of the bikes so the AM bike got sold....currently looking to replace that though so i should soon be back up to 3...
