Just picked up an old Raleigh Sprint [1984] just before a bloke was about to throw it away at the tip today. Pix to follow.
Everything works OK, except the front mech shifter. Bascially how do you set up a front mech on this of gearing ?
The levers are on the downtube and it has a 5 sped sprocket on the back and two up front.
Ta muchly.
put front mech onto smallest ring
set lever at its slackest point
pull cable tight & fix
twiddle the downtube adjuster a bit
ride
(or is the mech seized or something ?)

All seems to be smooth on the mech. I sort that tomorrow morning and give it a test ride.
