Got some pike coils that seem rubbish at the mo (harsh, lacking full travel, no where as good as marzocchi) and was wondering if getting them pushed would make any difference.

How does the push tuning change fork performance?

I haven't has a fork push'd but had my DHX coil rear shock done, as part of a service.

the difference was astounding, really. So much better than before. Was smoother, it still bobbed but as its on what is essentially and uplift bike, that doesn't bother me.

The service was cos the shock was weeping a bit of oil and i was about to take it back to the Alps for more thrashing. No reported problems , so it wasn't the service that sorted it out.

If you are getting a fork serviced, pay a bit more for the Push tuning. Well worth it.

They also tune to your weight, bike and riding style, ie set the fork up regarding rebound, compression etc

I believe they remove the rebound circuit and insert another, more superior rebound circuit so you get better oil flow. This makes it more sensitive to small bumps but can still take the big hits too. I may be wrong though.

push tuning a pike removes its simple rebound damper & replaces it with a dual flow (high /low speed rebound) damper , much better on multible hits and if a hard/fast rider will feel less choked through the rough stuff.

Sounds like you need to get the spring rate right first if you can't get full travel.

Push is a great upgrade on Pikes but pointless if you haven't got the right spring.

I've had 3 sets of Pikes done and the difference is night and day.

They are so much better on fast multiple hits. What they do is in affect put a similar damping system as the rockshox Blackbox damping system.

well worth doing IMHO
