Loving 1x10 at the moment, and looking to replace the old Sram X9 cranks with an XX1 chainset, but you have a choice of 2 Q factors (156 or 168) when ordering??? Never had to pick Q factor before when choosing cranks so a bit stumped.

I'm running a sram gxp bb on a norco range...

Asked in 2 local bike shops only to be greeted with a very confused look each time!

Any help greatly appreciated...

I'd get the wider one, there can be clearance issues with the 156s, particularly on FS frames.

Yeah although a narrower q-factor is supposed to be better bio-mechanically you need to factor in heel/crank clearance on the frame in the real world so 168 would be the safer option

There is a tech document on SRAM's website to help you measure it up.

After similar confused googling and finding no Info, I just measured my existing cranks on the frame and they were 172mm, so I ordered 168!!

I did find this after actually ordering, but as mentioned above just play safe with 168mm;- (Weirdly the Q168 is 141mm on the Spec pagge???)
