I have 1x9 speed xtr which works very well but in winter get the odd cassette blockage from mud leaves and twigs etc.

My 8 speed cx bike doesnt seem to get these blockages.

So was wondering how people are finding their 10 speed setups in all this mud and slop and if it wears out quicker than 9 speed?

Can't say I've ever had a problem with 9-speed or 10-speed. Used to run a steel Deore 9-speed cassette. Run an XT 10-speed.

No difference that I've noticed from 7 speed up to 10 tbh. Blockages in cassettes just seems to be something that happens randomly from time to time.

Having said that, my original 1x9 and 1x10 setups used chain devices, which could be very cloggy- definitely pushed mud into the chain. Changing to a narrow-wide 1x10 setup's improved that a lot.

10 speed is good.
Raking the mud out of my 8 speed is a weekly job.
Never done it on my 10 and I'm riding the sane stretches of mud.
