For me, as a mobile bike mechanic, in Sheffield it is very much business a usual until i am told otherwise. How are others finding it? Quite busy - in line with the norm but think it will tail off unfortunately, what seems like a lot of hard work over the short period of time we've been open may be derailed in the short term 🙁 Hoping that I will be busy pre "lockdown" as people have some free time and want to get out and away from crowds/public transport etc.

I'm not a mechanic anymore but I am in Sheffield city centre and it's magical! I wish it was like this all the time, just in terms of traffic, noise and general street-people craziness.

Have work booked in to the start of next week, so as long as I am healthy I am just going to be traveling from home to work only, no going out etc (well apart from a solo bike ride if I can)
Might reduce hours/day if work slows/dry up.
Hopefully it be ok, might increase as lot of people working from home, so no commute time might free them up to be able to get a quick ride in.

Can be able to take in bikes and return bike without having to meet anyone close if needed.

I shut up shop, If gov says so or says not allowed to go outside, like at the mo we can walk/cycle, which I think is a good thing, help with physical and mental health even if it is a short time for people.
Or big outbreak of cases in the area, based out in the country so should be a bit better that big cities/towns etc.

Think every one just got to be bit more careful and be VERY honest with your skill set, like not hitting big jumps/gnaly singletrack that might not turn out well if you make a mistake. chill for a bit.
Also be more aware if you or others close to you might be of the older gen.

Our bike workshop is a CIC doing much local community work, had 3 schools cancel upcoming sessions yesterday so it's having an impact already. 2 of our regular volunteers are over 70, one wants to come in, the other has a cold and is self isolating. So we have decided to halt close working teaching sessions for the time being but, until advised otherwise, are still open for regular drop offs and collections of bikes, keeping a distance / taking advisory NHS/gov precautions. Just have to play it by ear I guess.

Was due to get the keys to my new workshop unit next Friday. It's a unit I've been waiting for over 6 months and have been working from home in that time steadily mind. I've all but given up on it for the time being. As the units current occupier is meant to be imergrating to Malta. And has currently got all his worldly possessions stored in the unit as he sold his home before Christmas. We've a verbal contract that once has ready to go I'll have the unit. But with boarders closing and countries on lock down which he has to drive through. Its something I'll have to be patient with. So I've applied for a part time job in tesco. 15 hours a week. I've got an interview and induction tomorrow evening. With potential start on Saturday. Should allow me to do both for next 12 weeks or so
