I need to renew our house hold insurance, lots of company's only cover £1000 or maybe £3000. I am not worried about bikes it is tools, camping gear, watersports equipment etc. I need at least £5000 currently with John Lewis just looking for alternatives before I renew.
I think Direct Line don't have a limit other than 'sum insured' which is the same in your house or garage.
Don't take my word though that was the case when I checked last year could have changed.
Pedalcover don't specify so will cover all that. 15k on my policy.
Direct Line were fine for me, but I do have a condition on the policy that the bikes are locked to a wall anchor.
They may have changed that recently but after replying I went and checked and as long as the garage is locked theres no need for the bike to be locked to anything.
careful with tools if used for work, my policy only covered non occupation tools when I tried to claim for a stolen mitre saw.
