I've potentially lost a freehub spacer from a Hope XC hub. I've left it in the workshop, and with nightshift in tonight it may not be around tomorrow morning!!
Part 1 here :
So, worst case, I'll need to make a new one.
Does anyone know the dimensions? I'd assume it just to take up the gap between drive side hub bearing and the inner free hub bearing? If so I'll just measure that length & use same id/od as the spacer between freehub inner & outer bearings.
Part 1 in that diagram is the hub body?
Sounds like you're referring to part 5 in which case it's 16mm as described in the table.
The diagram also has an error on it in that part 10 on the table is labelled part 11 on the diagram.
Make one? Buy it.
Buy one? Make it.
10 mins on the lathe, if that.
Why not make the whole hub then?
Point is you don't have specs for the part. So you may wreck the bearing.
The part is prob £5.
We're talking about a very small simple cylindrical part.
specs? What kind of specs do you think you need? It's 16mm long, ID is clearance on the axle and OD is generous clearance on the freehub. It's not rocket science.
Was gonna say its either 14 or 16 mil, so I'd say biscuit powered has it. Ignore al, he is his username!
Fair enough if 16mm is accurate enough.
Cheers chaps - sorry I mis ID'd the part!
Anyway, found it 🙂
But yeah, machining something like this is no big deal at all 🙂 Why buy something when you make or fix it - that's my motto 🙂
