Trying to bleed a hope X2 brake but I can't seem to get any pressure in it, the lever is always soft. I have just replaced the piston in the lever assembly. Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this
Which lever? Silly question, but did the directional seal go on the right way?
It's for the bake brake so the left lever, yeah I bought the whole piston with the seals and springs already on, when I pull it fast it builds pressure but when I pull it slow its soft.
I meant tech2/tech2-evo/tech3 lever rather than front/rear.
It's not impossible that the seal went on the wrong way around. Did you have any trouble getting the lip of the seal into the bore?
I have to ask, why did you replace the piston and seals ? If the seal was passing there was a reason, possibly involving damage to the bore in the MC. Once you're sure all the air is out if the lever can still be pulled back to the hanlebar you need to have another look inside the MC at the bore/piston/seal.
I've had another look and I think I have bought the wrong piston, I replaced it because there was air coming in from the hose when I pulled the lever and I thought the seals on the piston were away. The piston that is installed just now has a metal end on it where it meets the lever which would make it the tech 3 piston, I however have the tech 2 evo which appears to have a rubber cap where it meets the lever
Hmm...a call to Hope might clarify whether or not you need to buy another piston.
Cheers for the help
