Chaps,
Got around to building new bike yest at last (after 3 month wait!!)....
New set of Tech X2's......took out of box blah blah....
When fitting rear, the lever body was hanging for a little while....when I came to mounting to bars there was quite a bit of fluid around the reservoir cap and lever body.......as you can probably guess on completion the lever is super soft with no feel. I've centred the pads/caliper and played around with the bit point control etc....
What I don't understand is how the res lost the fluid?...the cap was tight etc......is there some sort of purge/over-flow hole?
If I'm now to bleed the brake and shorten the hose.....is it a standard replaceable olive job?
Any suggestions appreciated!!
Go to the hope website and watch the video about bleeding brakes that have a tech lever.
Shouldnt be leaking fluid from the body unless the caps are not done up tight or the hose is loose...
Very easy to shorten hose.If you remove hose from lever end you might not even need to bleed them! Done mine a few weeks ago.Once you remove sleeve theres a small slotted olive that you have to prise apart with small screwdriver. This is reuseable.Had no problems with Hope so far! Try talking to Hope.Sounds like you have a leak somewhere?
