looking to buy a set of hope tech x2s for my orange 5 are they any good or is it worth paying extra for the m4s......

There's a review in this (or was it last?) months ST mag.
Good, not as powerfull as Elixir's, but better feel, but maybe not as good as the new XT's (which are half the price on Rose).
I've got a set of mini-X2's on my singlespeed, so I'm not sure what that says about me!
