The new Hope T4 Evo lever blades fit the standard T4 master cylinder. I haven't tried anything other than a quick test fitting, but they feel ok. These are the standard Evo blades that come with the new master cylinders, and my guess is that the control blade would be too close, and the power blade pretty much like a standard T4 blade, but I could be very wrong.
The pivot is exactly the same, so no need for any drilling like there is when trying to fit T4 blades to the T3 MC.
From pic, you can see the differences between the T4 (bottom) and Evo (top) cams. The basic shape is roughly the same, but the Evo is different on closer inspection and a bit more involved thanks to the servo thingy.
This shows the T4 blade on top of the Evo blade. Shape is quite different.
These show the Evo blade fitted to the T4 MC, with the adjusters in all the min and max positions
Interesting to see... Looks like the new lever blades have countered my criticism that the T4 lever blades need to be sat so far out in their travel to get a firm feel, so as to only be useful to people with absolutely gargantuan hands. Those of us who prefer running our levers closer to the bar would continually get poor performance due to the lever being unable to compensate for the closer in position. The new blades appear to start much closer to the bar, and be able to go pretty much all the way to the bar for those who like to run their levers super close!
Interesting. Could you update this post when you've tried them please?
Sorry. Haven't tried the combo in anger on a ride, as i fitted the GR4s to the KSL
Questions… has anyone ridden the TV4EVO GR4 with any of the optional levers? Anyone know which lever feels/works most like the TV4 V4?
hi teethgrinder. i am doing this to my t4s with the evo standard blades as its a much nicer lever. i was wondering if you use them still. maybe you could pack out under the cam where the reach bolt hits to give more outward reach and maybe file out the slot which goes near the cam end of the blade for more clearance? thanks jord
I only swapped them over to see if they'd actually fit - running the stock T4 on my 916, and the GR4 Evo on my KSL.
It's much easier swap that T4 to T3
yes mate. i think i can have a way of making them work quite good just a few little fabrications 😂😂. on our montys in the trials days we used to mod older hs33 lever blades etc so should be good and similar in many ways. i just much prefer the hooks on the new evo blades. i will let you know the outcome haha. cheers
another quick one mate. are the resrvoir caps the same on the t4 and evos. they look very similar??
I haven't tried swapping them but they do look the same
yes pal i think so too
plan worked and much prefer the evo standard blade to the tech 4 lever much better shape and feel to it 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👌🏻
Just following up, as I don't like the feel of the tech4 lever blade. I asked Hope if the Evo blade fitted and they said no, but were they fibbing?
I run levers close to the bar too and am falling out with the brakes over it.

hi mate. yes the standard lever fits no problem. i modified my reach adjuster to give it more outbound. i think the tech evo is tech 4, i believe even the evo resrvoir caps are the same too. just that ugly bleed screw on the new evos. hope want you think it doesn't fit. maybe the control/ power options are not possible too close to the bar then. yes tech 4 lever way behind the evo.
Okay... who's used both the Tech4 and the Evo levers now then? Unlike others, I love the "big" nature of the Tech4... so much control... and I can set the lever reach to be perfect for me... is any of that lost with the "standard" Evo lever blades? Looking at getting some Evo GR4 and wondering whether to order the power levers, or just stick with standard. Ta!
I have the V4 on eBike and newly fitted GR4s on the enduro bike, the reach and that is all the same, but the blade (stock GR4 one) is just a nicer shape - still big, but just more ergonomic, fit the finger better
ive not lost any power with evo standard levers. so much more comfortable feel of the lever. tech 4 blade not a patch on the new plus smaller comfier dimples also much better hook on the std blade.

As the instigator of all this, and running both the GR4 Evo (on KSL and now Druid E) and T4V4 (on the 916) I can categorically state - it depends.
My T4V4 have a very light lever feel in comparison to the GR4, which I really prefer over the slightly heavier GR4. I assume this is mostly to do with the slightly longer lever of the T4, but some of it is likely due to the differences in the cam profile and piston seals and spring rate.
I may take a punt on the Evo power lever blades to get that lighter feeling pull like the T4 back.
FWIW, I still use the old method of bleeding Hope brakes, as the funnel and syringe just seems like more faff to me, and If I hadn't got the GR4 on offer (Start and Ebay 20% off, and sold that pair of T4V4 for decent money) I would still be happily using the T4V4 on the e-bike.
Thank you! Sounds mostly positive about the new lever shape.
Truth is I'd just buy T4V4 again if it was an option... none of the changes appeal to me... but I'm sure GR4 will be just fine.
I think for lever blades, the shape is very much a case of personal preference like any other contact point, so what feels right for us might feel terrible for someone else. In that respect, Hope got it right by having the different profiles for different preferences, and actually more importantly, hand sizes. It would be nice to get the option at purchase rather than having to buy them on top, though.
And I also think the GR4 caliper is overlooked - slightly more compact than a V4 caliper, but still capable of taking a 2.3mm rotor without the compromises of being designed for a 3.4mm rotor like the V4 caliper. I'd love to run vented rotors (because I am a slag for shiny, trick parts) but wouldn't spend >£90 each on them.
I think maybe I got the wrong end of the stick here, I have t4v4s and want to change the lever blade as it's a poor shape for me.
Does the Evo blade fit a T4 lever and does it allow a closer to the bar bite point if so?

It fits and sits closer as per the images in the OP, with the caveat that the range of adjustments for reach and BPC aren't the same.
