Still waiting to hear back from the organiser - while I am waiting does anyone know the correct method for transferring an entry to another rider?

Officially (IIRC) you can't - you just give up your entry and they give it out to the waiting list.
In reality, you just give the email to whoever's taking it on and they just give your name on the day to get their card/map/etc.

You can transfer entries - just drop the organisers an email and then email in a new entry form for the replacement rider; job's a good'n.
