Just the 'normal' allen key bolts, with the smaller (narrower) heads, where do you get replacements? (m8's rounded one)
I know there been dozen of thread on here about it, but you try searching for HT II bolts...

I got a replacement from ukbikestore, think it cost me about £2-3.

Failing that get the part number from of Shimano website and search using Google.

but you try searching for HT II bolts

Shimano call them "crank arm clamp bolts" so try searching for that. I've always found Slane Cycles useful for small Shimano spares, but any LBS should be able to order them in from Madison. By the way, all the ones I've got (Deore, SLX, XT) are M6 not M8.

A std socket cap M6 will do, they round less easily than the shimano ones.

m8 = "mate"?

correct me if I'm wrong, but these bolts are redundant apart from ensuring the cranks are pushed onto the BB enough for the plastic clip to push down over the pinch bolts are they not? once the pinch bolts are done up the crank bolt is redundant.

my brother lost his ages ago, when I refitted them I just tapped them on with a mallet, or you can borrow the same nut from another set of cranks and then remove it again.

Get all my bolts from the local nuts n bolts shop. Take an old one in and leave with a box full

Two months ago on this thread I wrote

Rarely do I retract a recommendation, but based on recent dealings with Slanes I can no longer in good faith recommend them, and in fact my advice is now to avoid.

Oh, no big deal, just been trying to order some Shimano spares for 3 months now and been getting increasingly frustrated with unresponsiveness, confusion, and down right porkies about when they'll be in stock!

I'm sure others will have had better experiences with them, but I just don't feel comfortable anymore with there being a recommendation from me in the archives.

It can be distributors (or their suppliers/manufacturers) that **** up this kind of thing, tho Madison are generally pretty good.

😀
We just used normal bolts in the end BTW, as per Al's recommendation.. I was tempted to use madison but £3 a bolt was excessive (I had been under the impression that you needed the special head to fit HT II cranks - you don't).

Its the pinch bolts he's after.

I'm using a couple of old stem bolts at the mo. Do you not have a man tin of bits??
