Bit of a project planned, and no matter where I search online, I can't figure this out...
Got these brake levers:

Shimano BL-M445s..

I want to take the lever blade off, and have a bit of a 'play around'...

Any suggestions? It doesn't look like a serviceable part, but it might be...

Cheers

Pull the lever in all the way. There should be a grub screw visible that holds the pivot pin in.
Probably (thats how it works with most shimano levers)

I thought that, but the pivot pin is 'solid'.
I have a bad feeling it's pushed in from the top, then 'splayed' out at the bottom, like a pop rivet.....

AFAIK those blades aren't designed to be removable.

This man ^^^ is a Shimano mechanic so I'd take that as fact if I were you.

Depends on what you want to do with it, but the push rod can be screwed through the barrel with a bit of a fiddle, giving access to the gubbins behind it if memory serves me correctly.

Well, I screwed there'd all the way through which left the lever able to flap about. Still no easy access to remove the lever.
It reluctant to Smply drill it out...

It's Shimano it's designed to be used then thrown in the bin. Welcome to the 21st century*.

Sorry, thought you wanted access to play with the internals, a drill is probably your only option to remove the pin.

Hmm...shame as it was really just an "I wonder" type though process..

Might pick up a spare lever (£12) and play with that first...

Cheers for the input team..
